HOW TO LIVE THE SWAG LIFE

What is the Swag Life?  The word Swag has become an incredible buzz word in our culture today. What I’ve noticed is that to different people it means different things. To some swag is all about dressing like a hipster, being obnoxious, and whatever else you want to imagine. To others, swag is something that defines your personality and who you are…it’s a display of your individuality. So what does the Swag Life mean to us here at Live With Swag™?

First off let me define what I feel Swag is. Swag is your own personality and brand. It’s your character, style, demeanor any everything in between…it’s how you show up in life. Now, Live With Swag™ is just an extension of my prior definition. It’s doing what you love, being yourself, never settling, and living the life that YOU dream up…not someone else.  

One of the things we do on swaglife4ever.blogspot.com is highlight people who live the Swag Life. These are people who are currently taking life to the next level. They are chosen because they exemplify what it means to Live With Swag™ and really live your dream.

So how can YOU live the Swag Life? I’ve taken the liberty to put together the top 8 things you can do right now to embrace more of who you are, and take the leap into the Swag Life.

1. Believe in Yourself – No matter what.

Always believe that you’re great, because you are. Not in a cocky or arrogant way, rather in a confident in who you are kind of way. Be bold. It is this conviction that is necessary to achieve great things.

2. Find out what your passions are…and do them.

What is it that makes you feel alive? Spend more of your time doing this, and figure out a way to make a living doing them.

3. Ignore the haters and naysayers.

There will always be people who criticize you or try to bring you down AKA…haters. Stay true to yourself and reference #1. The easiest way to make yourself unhappy is trying to please everyone else.

4. Play Hard Work Harder.

Many people love to use the phrase “Play Hard Work Hard” I call BS. Yes it’s important to enjoy life, but most of the people who are in the spotlight or top 10% have gotten to where they are from a ridiculous work ethic. Be willing to work harder than everyone else around you. When you follow #2 your work is play anyways.

5. Always focus on adding value.

No matter what you do or what business you’re in; always focus on how you can help others or add value. If you’re an entrepreneur the way you get paid is by adding value. The more value you add the higher you’re paid. When you come from a place of wanting to help, people feel it. Live by this and it WILL pay off.

6. Take calculated risks.

The biggest thing that holds people back from the Swag Life is FEAR. Fear of failure, rejection, success, etc. Build the habit of taking risks. Typically the bigger the risk; the bigger the reward. Now don’t go and take unnecessary risks and make silly decisions…but be willing to put yourself out there.  Bet on yourself.

7. Invest in YOU.

The best investment you can ever make is in YOU. Invest in learning more, developing your skills, becoming a better person, etc. Go to seminars, read books, listen to audio tapes, feed your mind with fuel that is going to drive you. Doing this is the MOST profitable investment you will ever make.

8. TAKE ACTION. NOW!

Like Nike says, Just do it. Talk is cheap, walk the walk. You can have the greatest idea in the world! If you don’t take action on it and take action NOW, then the odds are someone else will. Knowledge IS NOT power….APPLIED knowledge is power. Build the habit of taking action. Now.

These things my friends, will lead you to the Swag Life; a life where you get to do what you want, when you want, with who you want. Giving a sh*t about your life is the coolest thing you could ever do. When you do these things consistently…you will inevitably Live With Swag™.
